PERAN KOMPETENSI GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENGOPTIMALKAN STRATEGI EKSPOSITORI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN BELAJAR SISWA

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher competence in optimizing expository learning strategies to improve student learning comprehension. Teacher competence, which includes pedagogical, professional, personal, and social competencies, plays a central role in the successful implementation of expository strategies in the classroom. The method used in this study is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained from various scientific literature, educational journals, and relevant reference books published from 2020 to 2025. The results of the study indicate that PAI teachers with high competence are able to optimize expository strategies through systematic delivery of material, use of varied learning media, and provision of constructive feedback. The proper use of expository strategies has been proven to significantly improve students' conceptual understanding of Islamic subject matter. It is concluded that continuous development of PAI teacher competence is the main key to creating effective, meaningful, and student-centered learning.
