MEMBANGUN GENERASI BERKARAKTER: KAJIAN DESAIN KURIKULUM PAI INTEGRATIF PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstrak

Strengthening religious values among elementary school students has become an increasingly urgent necessity amid the digital era, which has contributed to moral degradation and greater exposure to content that contradicts Islamic teachings. This study aims to examine comprehensively how an integrative Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum contributes to the formation of students' religious character, particularly among fourth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a qualitative approach based on library research, drawing on 32 scientific journal articles indexed in SINTA and Scopus, academic books, and various educational policy documents published between 2020 and 2025. Data analysis was conducted using two techniques, namely content analysis and thematic analysis, supported by source triangulation procedures to ensure the validity and credibility of the findings. The results indicate that an integrative PAI curriculum is capable of harmoniously integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions within a comprehensive learning framework. This approach has demonstrated a significant contribution to the development of students' religious character, including honesty, responsibility, discipline in worship, and social awareness toward the surrounding environment. Nevertheless, its implementation still faces several challenges, particularly those related to teachers' pedagogical competencies and the limited innovation in instructional methods. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of curriculum models based on Islamic values while also offering practical implications for educators and educational policymakers. In conclusion, an integrative PAI curriculum possesses considerable potential to foster students' religious character, provided that it is supported by continuous teacher professional development and further contextual field-based research.
